Texas A&M University-Central Texas will celebrate the graduation of more than 100 undergraduate and graduate degree recipients at 7 p.m. Friday at the Bell County Expo Center in Belton.

University Registrar Hannah McDonald said that a total of 131 students have applied for graduation and intend to participate in the ceremony at the Expo, 301 W. Loop 121.

Dr. Marc Nigliazzo, university president, said that Texas A&M-Central Texas has awarded more than 9,000 undergraduate and graduate degrees since first opening its doors in 2009.

“Including our summer graduation, the university will have awarded a total of 9,475 degrees,” he said, adding that the demand for affordable higher education in Central Texas was clear.

“Our mission as a transfer-level university means that our purpose is clear: we provide a crucial pathway for everyone in the region who may have taken college courses or who has earned a two-year degree,” he said in a news release.

“We are here for those who want the opportunity to complete their undergraduate degree or pursue a graduate degree,” Nigliazzo said. “And we know that those who do are contributing to the economic growth in business and industry, education, and the arts and sciences.”

The graduation ceremony will also be livestreamed at www.tamuct.edu/graduation.
