The Texas A&M University–Central Texas College of Business Administration was ranked 59th by the U.S. News & World Report for best online undergraduate business programs. The updated ranking showed the program moving up nearly 40 spots from its No. 98 ranking a year ago.

Mark White, vice president of marketing at U.S. News & World Report, in the process of confirming the ranking results, rightfully noted, “That’s quite a big jump in one year!”

The 2024 study assessed 1,752 undergraduate online business programs, and of that number, 1,680 were ranked.

University officials could not agree more. Lucas Loafman, J.D., interim dean of the College of Business Administration, said that the most important thing about the results is that they are an external validation of a program’s academic quality.

“There is a lot of competition for enrollment and many great programs, so this is a testament to quality of instruction and the personalized experience our faculty ensure for each student,” he added.

“Of course, it is affirming when recognition like this happens, and the truth is that our faculty work have been a part of building and innovating in their respective areas in business for the last 15 years, so it is wonderful to see all that work yield such a prestigious result.”

“Our faculty love teaching, and they are passionate advocates and scholars in their disciplines,” he said. “And there is an equal amount of passion in each of them when they see their students embrace what they are learning. The rankings are a great affirmation of all of that.”

A&M-Central Texas – now approaching its 15th year anniversary – is known for its unique mission: making transfer as convenient and simple as possible, encouraging students with some college credits to transfer in and select from 30 undergraduate programs and 19 graduate programs – many of which, like the business program, is offered online and many other flexible learning options.
