Texas A&M University–Central Texas will host its annual Distinguished Alumni Awards celebration on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025, honoring those exceptional individuals who embody the values, pride and perseverance of the A&M–Central Texas Warrior community.
Distinguished Alumni Awards serve as the university’s highest recognition of alumni and community members who demonstrate outstanding service, professional achievement, and unwavering dedication to Texas A&M University–Central Texas.
This year’s celebration promises to be a powerful tribute to the spirit and legacy of the university. The event not only highlights individual accomplishments but also reinforces the collective impact of the Warrior alumni network across Central Texas and beyond.
At last year’s ceremony, the university recognized three remarkable honorees whose work continues to inspire. Dr. Anthony Martinez, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of the American Veterans Mission (AVM, Inc.), was celebrated for his service-driven leadership in the nonprofit sector, providing vital support to veterans and their families. Abdul Subhani, founder and CEO of Centex Technologies, was honored for his entrepreneurial success and community leadership through his ventures and philanthropic initiatives as President of Subhani Ventures and Subhani Foundation.
Also honored posthumously was Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Pete Taylor, a cornerstone figure in the history of Texas A&M University–Central Texas. Lt. Gen. Taylor, alongside the late Gen. Robert M. Shoemaker, played a pivotal role in the establishment of the university, working tirelessly with local leaders to secure legislative approval and bring higher education opportunities to the region.
The Distinguished Alumni Awards not only celebrate individual stories of success but also highlight the enduring mission of Texas A&M University Central Texas to cultivate leaders who give back. As the Sept. 18 ceremony approaches, the Warrior community looks forward to recognizing the next group of visionaries who continue to shape the university’s legacy.
