Texas A&M University–Central Texas is increasing financial assistance for high-performing transfer students with a new transfer merit scholarship for undergraduates.
As an upper-division university, A&M–Central Texas offers only junior- and senior-level courses. The new transfer merit scholarship is meant to reward those students who maintain high academic standards through their coursework completed prior to enrolling at A&M–Central Texas.
This no-hassle scholarship is triggered by verification of submitted transcripts and is automatically applied to a student’s balance based on GPA at the time of transfer. Students with a 3.75 or higher cumulative GPA are eligible for up to $2,000 per year for up to three years. Students with a cumulative transfer GPA of 3.5 – 3.74 are eligible for up to $1,000 per year for up to three years. No additional paperwork and no scholarship application is required for the transfer merit scholarship. The amount is prorated based on enrollment hours. Students must be Texas residents or hold an in-state tuition waver and be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester to qualify.
A&M–Central Texas maintains one of the most affordable tuition and fee structures in the nation. The average cost of tuition and fees per semester for a student taking 12 or more hours is less than $3,800 per semester. The rate is around $3,900 for business students, and a little higher for students enrolling in an engineering program. These rates can be locked for three years. In 2023-2024, the average financial aid received by students at A&M–Central Texas was $7,978 per year. Military benefits also apply to military affiliated students and their immediate family members.
A member of The Texas A&M University System, A&M–Central Texas was established to provide bachelor’s and master’s degrees to the people of Central Texas, while keeping cost as low as possible. This new scholarship demonstrates that commitment.
