Annual Outstanding University Research and Innovation Banquet Honors Finalists

Texas A&M University-Central Texas will honor 23 students, staff, and faculty at the 11th Annual Outstanding Research and Innovation Awards Banquet on Thursday, May 11.

The finalists and award categories are:

  • Finalists for the Outstanding Faculty/Staff Qualitative Scholarship Award are Anitha Chennamaneni, Ph.D., Shelley Harris, Ph.D., and Lisa Bunkowski, Ph.D., and Lucas Loafman, J.D.
  • Finalists for the Outstanding Faculty/Staff Quantitative Scholarship Award are Lisa Bunkowski, Ph.D., Anitha Chennamaneni, Ph.D., and Khaldoon Dhou, Ph.D.
  • Finalists for the Warrior Innovation Award are Carmelia (Lia) Amuna, Ph.D., Emmanuel Tamarez, and Sharon Winslow in Student Wellness and Counseling Center, Michele Schmidt in University Library and Archives, and Gail Wallin and Michael Coolbaugh in Information Technology.
  • Finalists for the Outstanding Undergraduate Student Scholarship Award are Laura Dooley, Jasmine Mason, and Amanda McHugh.
  • Finalists for the Outstanding Graduate Student Scholarship Award are Danea Dameron, Jakob Davis, Felicia Juliano, and Sue Sitton.
  • Finalists for Outstanding Graduate Student Thesis Award are Gwenda Anderson, Kezandra Munoz-Wagner, and Chad Pettit.

The award winner for each category will be announced following a keynote address offered by Denita Hadziabdic Guerry, Ph.D., Fulbright U.S. Scholar Alumni Ambassador and Fulbright Scholar to Ghana. Hadziabdic Guerry is associate professor of entomology and plant pathology at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and is one of only 43 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Alumni Ambassadors in the United States.
