Officials from the university’s registrar’s office said that the university expects to award 283 degrees, 222 baccalaureate and 61 graduate degrees, with the number of degrees awarded by A&M-Central Texas since 2009 increasing to 10,489.

The university also welcomes Associate Vice Chancellor of Marketing and Communications, Steve Moore, from the Texas A&M University System who will be in attendance to offer congratulations.

A&M-Central Texas is one of the 11 regional universities of the Texas A&M University System, and it is the only public, upper-level university in Texas, focusing on offering degree programs and coursework for transfer students who may have begun, but never completed, their undergraduate degree, offering a total of 30 undergraduate degree programs and 19 graduate programs, many of which are offered both on campus and 100% online.

Interim President Dr. Richard M. Rhodes said that the entire university community looks forward to every graduation because it marks important milestones for the graduates – many of whom are the first in their families to earn a university degree.

“Every graduate who puts on their cap and gown, takes their place in the procession into the ceremony, and walks across the stage is an inspiration to all of us,” he said. “When they take that degree into their hands, they are walking into a future of prosperity and pride in accomplishment, and every faculty and staff member who contributed to their educational journey celebrates with them.”

The majority of the degree recipients are from the immediate Central Texas area and many others are from around the region and across the U.S., including 11 states outside of Texas. Many of Friday’s graduates he added, took advantage of the university’s online degree programs.

A&M–Central Texas is currently registering for the 2024 Spring Semester with classes beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 16. For more information, contact the admissions office at 254-279-0421 or visit
