Certificate Program Requirements

Undergraduate certificate program applicants must:

  • Have earned a minimum 30 academic, college-level transferable semester hours.
  • Have a minimum 2.0 cumulative transfer GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Be eligible to return to all previously attended colleges or universities.

Up to 15 semester credit hours successfully completed in an undergraduate certificate program may apply to a bachelor's degree. Students admitted as non-degree-seeking who later wish to pursue a degree at A&M-Central Texas may do so; however, they must complete the regular admission process and meet all general admission requirements.

Graduate certificate program applicants must:

  • Have attained a bachelor’s degree or higher from an approved and accredited U.S. institution or the equivalent from a foreign institution,
  • Have earned a minimum 2.5 GPA at time of degree conferral, or maintained a minimum 2.5 GPA on the last 60 hours of all coursework completed, to include all courses in the semester where the 60th hour occurs.
  • Be eligible to return to all previously attended colleges or universities.

All coursework in a successfully completed graduate certificate program may be applied to a graduate degree. Students admitted to a graduate certificate program who later wish to pursue a graduate degree at A&M-Central Texas may do so, and may be eligible for Quick Admission.
