State Tuition Assistance

For more information visit the Texas Military Department.

State Tuition Assistance is funded by the state of Texas for eligible members of the Texas Military Department pursuing their education. This benefit is available for fall and spring semesters only. The following Texas Components are eligible:

  • Texas Army National Guard
  • Texas Air National Guard
  • Texas State Guard

Students who utilize the State TA Program are responsible to pay the school for all charges at the beginning of the semester. The State TA Program will reimburse the service member, after the semester, for approved expenses IF all steps are followed. For more information about the Texas State TA Program visit the Texas Military Department.

Unearned Tuition Assistance Policy

Military Tuition Assistance (TA) is awarded to a student under the assumption that the student will attend school for the entire period for which the assistance is awarded. When a student withdraws, the student may no longer be eligible for the full amount of TA funds originally awarded. To comply with the new Department of Defense policy, Texas A&M University – Central Texas will return any unearned TA funds on a prorated basis through at least the 60% portion of the period for which the funds were provided. TA funds are earned proportionally during an enrollment period, with unearned funds returned based upon when a student stops attending.
