Special Preparations for April 8


After careful consideration of the guidance received from city and county officials regarding the solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, A&M-Central Texas leadership has determined that the university should conduct university business and instruction remotely, to the extent possible, to decrease the potential for serious traffic issues and emergency services delays. Classes are not canceled, but they will be conducted as remote sessions unless otherwise stated by course faculty.

Please note that the university is not holding any campus-wide events or on-campus classes on Monday, April 8, even though the campus will technically remain open for required services. Security/UPD and facilities services will be on campus that date.

Business Affairs

The Business Office, Budgets & Accounting, and Accounts Payable will all be working remotely and able to provide online support via email and Teams.  The mailroom will be closed with no remote support available. 

Centex Technologies

All faculty and staff will be remote.

College of Arts & Sciences

College of Arts & Sciences employees will be remote.

College of Education and Human Development

Information Technology

1. Desktop Support - TAMUCT"s Technology and Services Support portal
• The Desktop team will monitor tickets and support our users remotely
• On call for any necessary on-site visits.
2. Enterprise Applications, Telecommunications, and System Administration
• These teams will operate remotely, providing their usual services.
3. Warrior Tech Desk
• The Warrior Tech desk will handle calls and provide user support remotely.
• The HDC will provide additional assistance.
• Reminder: email was sent to the campus on 3/27/24, recommending that users test their laptops and home connections in advance (see attached)
