Undergraduate Teacher Education Programs
Teacher Education, one of the major programs at A&M-Central Texas, emphasizes broad general education as a foundation for mastery of teaching skills and specialized knowledge in an academic discipline. The primary purpose of teacher education is to prepare highly qualified teachers for employment in Texas and the nation.

Students who currently hold a bachelor’s degree and would like to seek initial teacher certification will need to choose their certification area and successfully challenge the TExES through Pre-Admission Certification Testing (PACT) Additional preparation resources may be accessed through the: TExES website
Once you have successfully challenged the TExES, apply to graduate school then provide official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended to the Educator Preparation office for articulation and further steps. Setting up an advising appointment may be done directly through the Curriculum and Instruction Administrative Assistant at:
