Forge Research Park

The story of Forge at A&M-Central Texas in Killeen is one of local and regional academic, industry and government cooperation. The summary report describes the background, opportunity, and innovation ecosystem strategy that lays the foundation of a new blended knowledge community: Forge @ A&M-Central Texas.

Perkins and Will has completed the development of a comprehensive planning document for a university research park called Forge @ A&M-Central Texas, using a $1.2M planning grant funded by the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation (OLDCC) to A&M-Central Texas, administered by the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce.

Research Park Objectives

Forge @ A&M-Central Texas will provide a place where A&M Central Texas faculty, staff, and students, as well as Fort Hood researchers like Operational Test Command, can attract relevant industries to the Central Texas area to collaborate on research with them. Planned research focuses for the research park include defense, alternative energy, cybersecurity, healthcare, data analytics, and education/archives. Two businesses have already come to campus as the start of the collaboration: Centex Technologies and Trideum Corporation. Internships with these companies has also begun to provide career opportunities for A&M Central Texas students.

Further information on the research park will be added to this page as it becomes available.
