Texas A&M University-Central Texas to Host Central Texas Energy Summit
Texas A&M University–Central Texas will host the Central Texas Energy Summit from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21. The luncheon will bring together business leaders, policymakers, community leaders, developers and residents to discuss how the region can meet its growing energy demands.
“Central Texas is experiencing dynamic commercial development and population growth, which places increasing demands on energy infrastructure,” said Charley Ayres, director of University Relations at A&M–Central Texas. “The summit addresses how utilities like Oncor are expanding to meet these demands and ensure the region remains an attractive place for businesses and residents.”
The event is sponsored by the Economic Development Corporations in Belton, Copperas Cove, Killeen, Temple, and Taylor, as well as the Wilco Economic Development Partnership.
Keynote speaker Brian Lloyd, vice president of regulatory policy at Oncor Electric Delivery, has also worked with the Public Utility Commission of Texas, served as energy policy advisor in the office of Gov. Rick Perry and held leadership roles at Sempra Infrastructure.
Attendees are expected to leave with a clear understanding of how energy systems are evolving, details about Oncor’s expansion plans and new opportunities to collaborate with regional leaders.
Tickets are $25 per person or $225 for a table of eight. Registration is available here: Transact | Central Texas Energy Summit
