International Undergraduate Transfer Admissions

  • Minimum 2.0 cumulative transfer GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Minimum 30 academic, college-level transferable semester hours

    Applicants pursuing an Applied Science or Aviation Science degree may meet this requirement utilizing select workforce education credit from an approved Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree upon completion of 45 hours, to include all general education courses within the AAS.

  • Must be eligible to return to all previously attended colleges or universities
  • Meet minimum English language proficiency requirements

    Demonstrate proficiency by completing one of four options:

    • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) minimum score of 69 (Internet-based test) or 520 (paper-based test) or 190 (computer-based test)
    • International English Language Test (IELTS) minimum score of 6
    • Completion of six semester credit hours of English composition with a grade of C or better in each course

Steps to Apply

Step 1: Submit application

Complete and submit the international transfer application by visiting  www.applytexas.org.


Step 2: Pay Application Fee

Pay the $100 non-refundable application fee on applytexas.org. You can also pay by cash, check, money order, or credit card through our Business Office.


Step 3: Submit International Transcript Evaluations and U.S Transcripts

A. International Transcript Evaluations

Applicants with international college or university coursework are required to submit a course-by-course evaluation with GPA performed by an approved evaluation agency.

A&M-Central Texas recommends SpanTran or International Education Evaluation to complete the evaluation; however, will accept a course-by-course evaluation with GPA from a NACES or AICE member. NACES or AICE member.

B. Official U.S. College Transcripts

Applicants must submit official transcripts from all U.S colleges and/or universities attended.


Additional Information

An I-20 cannot be issued until all materials are received and the applicant is admitted to the university. To obtain a visa from the American Embassy located in the applicant’s country, a prospective student must have documented evidence of financial solvency. A sponsor is obligated to endorse all expenditures for the applicant during the entire course of study. Check with the American Embassy for further details.

International applicants must submit two passport-style color photos taken within six months of application. The A&M System mandates that all international students have medical insurance with coverage in the United States. Students will be automatically enrolled and charged for health insurance as part of their matriculation.


International Graduate Admissions

All of the following items must be on file in the Admissions Office before a decision can be made:

  1. Complete and submit the electronic International Graduate application form at: www.applytexas.org
  2. Applicants must submit accredited translations and evaluations of all the previous academic course work, which includes complete description of courses and overall G.P.A. The transcript must bear the date of Bachelor's degree conferral indicating that the applicant was in good standing at the last institution attended. If you have the original Diploma, please include it. See https://www.naces.org/members
  3. English Proficiency Requirements:
    • Completed ENGL 1301 and 1302 with a C or better
    • TOEFL Score : Original test scores (minimum of 550 for Regular TOEFL; 212 for Computerized TOEFL; 80 for Internet-based TOEFL
    • IELTS Score: Minimum score of 6

  4. A&M-Central Texas has waived or deferred GRE/GMAT requirements for Master's programs. Learn more.

F-1 Visa Information

If you plan on studying at Texas A&M University-Central Texas on an F1 Visa, you will be required to request an I-20 once you are admitted.

If you are already in the United States on an F1 Visa, you can request to have your I-20 transferred to A&M-Central Texas. You will need your PDSO/DSO at your former institution to complete the second half of the form. Please have their contact information ready.

Medical Insurance

Fees for medical insurance will be charged with tuition at the time of registration after full admission.

International students are required to purchase and maintain approved health insurance while enrolled and attending a Texas A&M University System institution, unless the student provides proof of coverage that meets waiver requirements.
