Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act Required Reporting

In accordance with interim reporting requirements issued by the Department of Education under Section 18004(e) of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, Texas A&M University – Central Texas (A&M-Central Texas), is providing the following information:

  1. A&M-Central Texas acknowledges that the institution signed and returned to the Department of Education the Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the CARES Act.  The institution further certifies it will use a minimum of 50% of the funds, or $1,318,324, received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students. 
  2. A&M-Central Texas received $659,162 from the Department pursuant to the University’s Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under section 18004(c) of the CARES Act.
  3. The total amount of Emergency Financial Aid Grants distributed to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act as of June 30, 2021, is $729,945.
  4. The estimated total number of students at A&M-Central Texas eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and thus eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act is 2,470.
  5. The total number of students who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act is 356 as of the date listed in number 3 above.
  6. Eligible students in need of support for eligible expenses must complete an electronic emergency aid application through their myCT account and provide information related to the amount requested and a breakdown by category of expenses (housing, transportation, food, medical, etc). Students are also requested to provide a statement as to the nature and cause of the emergent circumstance. Representatives from Enrollment Management and Student Financial Assistance receive the applications, review for completeness and eligibility under the CARES Act, and awards emergency funds as applicable. A student may not receive more than $3000 in a single term, or $4500 in a 12-month period, and expense category limits also apply. The amount awarded is based on the lesser of the amount requested on the application or the award by term, category and/or annual maximum. Disbursement of funds is made directly to the student through their designated refund preference established at the time of registration.

Coronavirus Response Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA)

  1. Texas A&M University acknowledges that the institution signed and returned to the Department of Education the Certification the Supplemental Grant Funds for Students Agreement and the assurance will used the applicable amount of funds designated under Section 314(a)(1) of the Coronavirus Response Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act.
  2. Total amount of funds Texas A&M University-Central Texas received from DOE under the CRRSAA is $659,162.
  3. Total amount of Emergency Aid Grants distributed to students under CRRSAA is $165,762.
  4. The estimated total number of students at Texas A&M University-Central Texas that are eligible to receive emergency financial aid grants to students under CRRSAA is 2215.
  5. Total number of students who have received and Emergency financial aid grant to students under the CRRSAA is 92.
  6. Emergency Financial Aid Grants and how much they would receive under CRRSAA: Eligible students in need of support for eligible expenses must complete an electronic emergency aid application through their myCT account and provide information related to the amount requested and a breakdown by category of expenses (housing, transportation, food, medical, etc). Students are also requested to provide a statement and supporting documentation as to the nature and cause of the emergent circumstance. Representatives from Student Financial Assistance receive the applications, review for completeness and eligibility under the CRRSAA Act, and awards emergency funds based on need. A student may not receive more than $1750 in a single term, or $4500 in a 12-month period, and expense category limits also apply. Disbursement of funds is made directly to the student through their designated refund preference established at the time of registration. Students were also given the option to voluntarily authorize application of funds to an outstanding account balance.
  7. American Rescue Plan (ARP)

  1. Texas A&M University acknowledges that the institution signed and returned to the Department of Education the Certification the Supplemental Grant Funds for Students Agreement and the assurance will used the applicable amount of funds designated under Section 314(a)(1) of the Coronavirus Response Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act.
  2. Texas A&M University acknowledges that the institution signed and returned to the Department of Education the Certification the Supplemental Grant Funds for Students Agreement and the assurance will use the applicable amount of funds designated under Section 314(a)(4) of the American Rescue Plan.
  3. Total amount of funds Texas A&M University - Central Texas received from the Department of Education under the ARP is $2,587,420.
  4. Total amount of Emergency Aid Grants Distributed to students under ARP as of the date of submission is $1, 386,900.
  5. The estimated total number of students at the institution that are eligible to receive emergency financial aid grants to students under ARP is 2114.
  6. Total number of students who have received and Emergency financial aid grant to students under the ARP is 2105.
  7. Texas A&M University- Central Texas automatically disbursed HEERF III funds to all eligible students enrolled for the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022. No application requirement was needed. Based on guidance from the Department of Education, the amount of HEERF III funds to each student varied based on their expected family contribution (EFC) as determined by their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prioritizing students with the greatest financial need.
  8. Students who were identified as eligible were notified via email regarding their ARP eligibility and directed to their myCT account to view the amount.
