The Research Compliance Officer ensures adherence to ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements in research. We provide consultations, education, and information to help the research community achieve the highest standards of ethical research conduct. This office also assists PIs in meeting federal requirements for securing classified information and controlled unclassified information (CUI), and serves as the Export Control/Empowered Official (EO) for the university.

Roles and Responsibilities


  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
  • Guide research ethics and integrity.
  • Conduct audits and assessments.
  • Manage conflict of interest disclosures (FCOI).
  • Collaborate with other offices to ensure comprehensive compliance.
  • Assist with securing classified and controlled unclassified information (CUI).
  • Serve as the Export Control/Empowered Official (EO).
