How It Works

REGISTER FOR CLASSES

Upon registering for courses, you will be automatically enrolled into the program.

VERIFY YOUR ORDER

Starting 30 days before the first day of classes, you will receive an email to verify your order and select your fulfillment preference.

RECEIVE YOUR TEXTBOOKS

An email notification will be sent when your order is ready for pickup or when it ships. Your digital materials will be delivered for your course(s) in Canvas.

What is the WarriorReady program?

WarriorReady is a textbook and class material rental option that simplifies your start of semester, lowers the cost of materials, and ensures you have access to all required course materials on or before the first day of class. With WarriorReady, physical textbooks are conveniently packaged and ready for students on a rental basis, and access to digital material is directly within the A&M-Central Texas Canvas system. At the end of the term, you'll receive email reminders to return rented physical course materials to the bookstore.

How do I enroll in the program?

All eligible students will be automatically enrolled in the WarriorReady program.

Can I opt-out of the program? How do I change my opt-out status?

Students have the option to opt-out of the WarriorReady program each semester during the opt-out window. By opting out, students will not receive their required materials in a convenient package and access to digital content will be removed after the opt-out window closes.  Options for purchasing course materials after opting out can be found on the bookstore website or on the course syllabus.

If you select the opt-out option, the charge will be removed from your account through an automated process. It may take overnight before you see the charge removed from your bill.

Can I choose to participate for some classes but not others?

No. The WarriorReady program is designed to be an all-in or all-out solution to bring affordability to campus.

What is included in the program?

The program provides all required textbooks, lab manuals, access codes and digital textbook versions to eligible students.

Who is eligible to participate?

Both undergraduate and graduate students are enrolled in WarriorReady at the time of registration.

What materials are included in the program?

The program provides all required textbooks, eTextbooks, lab manuals, and access codes to eligible students.

What materials are excluded from the program?

The program does not include consumable course supplies that cannot be returned and reused such as lab goggles, lab coats, dissection kits, molecular model kits, engineering kits or nursing kits.

What if I need an accessible format due to an impairment or disability?

Students with impairments or disabilities who need textbooks in accessible formats should contact the TAMUCT Access & Accommodations office. They will assist with information about accommodation services, including the procedure to request services, general documentation guidelines for eligibility, and the process for requesting accessible format textbooks. What happens if I lose a rented textbook?

You will be charged the replacement cost plus the non-return processing fee for any book not returned to the bookstore, regardless of the reason. These fees are in addition to the rental fee.

How do I purchase my course materials if I decide to opt-out of the program?

Students will be responsible for purchasing their required course materials through the bookstore or any another textbook supplier. A student of this institution is not under any obligation to purchase a textbook from a university-affiliated bookstore. The same textbook may also be available from an independent retailer, including an online retailer.

How do I pay for my WarriorReady textbook rentals under this program?

The WARRIORR READY charge will be included on your student account along with other charges such as tuition and fees. This allows you to use Financial Aid, scholarships, etc. to pay for your course materials.

Can I use financial aid to pay for WarriorReady?

Yes, you can use your financial aid to pay for your WarriorReady rental. Students using military educational benefits also can participate in the WarriorReady program.

Will my GI Bill benefits pay for textbooks?

Students who are participants in the Chapter 31 Veterans Readiness and Employment program can have their books paid for through the WarriorReady program.

When a Chapter 31 student submits a request for certification, the Military and Veterans Services Center will look for a purchase order from each student’s VRE Counselor. Each Purchase order must have books approved to be billed to the VRE program. Please work with your VR&E Counselor to make sure that your purchase order has books approved to prevent any delays in receiving your books.

Students who are using other benefits such as Chapter 33 Post-9/11 GI Bill, Chapter 35 (DEA) Dependent’s Education Assistance, Chapter 30 the Montgomery GI Bill or Chapter 1606 the selective reservist GI Bill are not able to have their expenses for books reported to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Students using Chapter 33 will continue to receive their regular book stipend, housing allowance and tuition and fees payments in accordance with the percentage they are eligible for provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Students using Chapter 33 benefits can use funds received from the VA to pay for the WarriorReady book program or source their books from the campus bookstore or another vendor.

Can I use my military educational benefits with the WarriorReady Program?

Yes, students using military educational benefits can participate in the WarriorReady program.

Can I use my TAMUCT employee/spouse scholarship for the WarriorReady Program?

No, the TAMUCT employee/spouse scholarship can only be applied to tuition and fees.

When are my WarriorReady textbook rentals due back to the bookstore?

The deadline to return all rental textbooks is the last day of final exams for the semester. Students will receive reminders ahead of the rental deadline to their email address.

What happens if I do not return the books by the due date?

If rental textbooks are not returned to the bookstore by the due date, you will be assessed by the bookstore a replacement and non-return processing fee. The replacement fee is 75% of the new book price at the time of purchase and the non-return processing fee is 7.5% of the new book price at the time of purchase.

Can I buy my rented textbook?

Yes, the program provides you with the option to purchase any rental textbooks at a reduced rate during the semester.

Do I need to return books if they are for a continuation course?

Yes, you will still be required to return continuation course textbooks. You will be issued the same title for the next semester of the continuation course.

Can I return my books by mail?

Yes! Just use the return shipping label available online. You can print it as often as you like, but you can only use it once. So if you're returning multiple books, please put them in one box and use one shipping label. You can also just drop off your books at the bookstore.

What happens if I never verify my order?

Students will receive email notifications from the bookstore reminding them to verify their order and choose their fulfillment preference. If the student does not opt-out, their materials will be held at the bookstore and their student account will be charged.

If I never pick up my books, will I still get charged?

Yes. If the student does not opt-out, their materials will be held at the bookstore and their student account will be charged.

Can I highlight and write in the textbooks I get?

Normal use of highlighting and writing is permitted. The bookstore will use the same standards for determining acceptable condition of rental textbooks that it uses for determining condition of books sold back as used books.

Can the bookstore refuse to accept my WarriorReady rental when I return it?

Yes, the bookstore can refuse to accept your rental book if it is not returned in good condition. Good condition will be judged by the bookstore alone, and generally means book spine intact, no excessive damage to cover or contents, all original pages intact, all original components present, and no excessive highlighting, writing or other markings. Normal-use highlighting and writing is permitted. If the bookstore determines your book to be not acceptable for return, then you will be charged for a replacement copy and a non-return processing fee.

What do I do if I have not received my textbooks?

Orders cannot be processed until your order is verified. If you have already verified your order, contact the bookstore and give them your order number so they can check on the status of your order.

What do I do if I am missing a textbook or received the wrong one?

Send a copy of thecourse syllabus to sm8297@bncollege.com. Make sure to include important information like the course name, section, and your @my.tamuct.edu student email address.

What if I drop a class?

The drop/add policy for rented books is the same as for purchased books. Return the book to the bookstore within the allowed period along with drop/add documentation. If you return your book via mail, it must be postmarked within the allowed drop/add return period, and must include a copy of the drop/add documentation along with your book.

Can I opt-out if I picked up my textbooks?  

Yes, you will have 48 hours to return your textbooks. If you do not return the textbooks, the charges for the bundle will remain on your student account and you will be subject to a replacement and non-return processing fee.

How long is the rental period?

The rental period begins the day you pay for the Textbook Rental and continues until the the last day of Finals, as shown on your Order Confirmation. All rented textbooks must be returned to the bookstore, in good condition, by the Rental Return Due Date. Textbook Rentals returned via mail must be postmarked by the Rental Return Due Date.
