A&M–Central Texas Alums Earn Doctoral Degrees

Well, let’s just call it what it is: Our College of Arts and Sciences alumni are on fire: seven have recently earned their doctoral degrees:
AHM Zuberi Ashraf, undergraduate biology major, Class of 2018, received his doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin;
Wilzata Buie, undergraduate social work major, Class of 2011, completed her social work doctorate from the University of Kentucky;
Bearington Curtis, graduate history major, Class of 2020, successfully defended his doctorate at The Dale Center for the Study of War at The University of Southern Mississippi;
Shawnyha A. Golden, undergraduate social work major, Class of 2018, successfully defended her doctorate from Bradford Bible College;
Kino Hickey, undergraduate social work major, Class of 2018, completed his social work doctorate from the University of Kentucky;
Patrick Leach, graduate history major, Class of 2017, completed his doctorate from Baylor University in 2025; and
Jarrod Weaver, graduate history major, Class of 2023, received his doctorate from Liberty University in 2021. And that is not all. There are four more to come:
James Burke, graduate history major, Class of 2023, is now a research assistant at the University of Houston, recently completing his doctoral comprehensive exams.
Jesse Fletcha, undergraduate history major, Class of 2024, was accepted into the doctoral history program at Texas A&M University in 2025 with plans to complete in 2028;
Edna Maryon, undergraduate social work major, Class of 2021, was accepted into the doctoral program at the University of Kentucky;
Greg Sellers, graduate history major, Class of 2025, is now a teaching assistant with plans to complete his doctorate from Texas A&M University in 2028; and Brian Tomczek, graduate history major, Class of 2024, is now a teaching assistant and doctoral student at the University of Delaware.
