May Graduation Sets University Record with 430 Students

On Saturday, May 16, at 3 p.m., A&M–Central Texas celebrates Spring Commencement at the Cadence Bank Center with a record-setting 430 degree recipients, increasing the total number of degrees awarded by the university since 2009 to 13,921.

University officials said that the university’s graduate programs experienced significant growth in 2024, with enrollment increasing 18% year over year and 44% over the past five years

The graduating class, University President Richard M. Rhodes, Ph.D., noted includes three family members all graduating together: Irene Appiah and twin siblings, Prince and Princess Appiah.

“Our 2025 Spring Commencement included a husband and wife, a father and a son, and a brother and sister,” he said, adding that Spring 2024 included a mother and daughter. “We join our graduates and their families in celebrating this milestone moment together.”

Featured dignitaries include Texas A&M University System Chief Auditor, Amanda Dotson and Centex President and CEO, Abdul Subhani, who will receive the university’s fifth Warrior Leadership Award.

The ceremony will be livestreamed, and information for friends and family is available on the University website at www.tamuct.edu.

A&M–Central Texas is one of the 12 regional universities of the Texas A&M University System, and it is the only public, upper-level university in Texas, focusing on offering degree programs and coursework for transfer students who have begun, but not yet completed, their undergraduate degree, offering a total of 31 undergraduate degree programs and 20 graduate programs, many of which are offered both on campus and 100% online.

A&M–Central Texas is currently registering for the 2026 Summer and Fall Semesters. Priority deadline for applications is May 18 and will continue to be accepted through the start of the term with summer courses beginning June 1st. Registration is on-going for the Fall 2026 semester with priority deadline of August 10th and continuing through the start of the Fall 2026 classes beginning August 24th.
