KILLEEN, Texas — The Texas A&M University-Central Texas Police Department is accepting new, unwrapped toys as part of its Christmas in July Toy Drive to support B.I.G. Love Cancer Care.

The drive is open to the campus community and the public. Donations may be dropped off at the Founders Hall Welcome Center, 1001 Leadership Place, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or during posted university operating hours.

Accepted items include stuffed animals, children’s books, games, craft kits, electronic toys and similar items, with no age-range restrictions. Monetary donations and gift cards will not be accepted.

The department hopes to collect enough gifts to fill a patrol car. Donations may support B.I.G. Love Cancer Care’s toy closets, which provide toys, games, crafts and activities for children at clinics and hospitals, and the nonprofit’s Holiday Shoppe, where parents and caregivers can select gifts free of charge.

B.I.G. Love Cancer Care was established in 2007 in memory of Brooke A. Phillips and works to ease the childhood cancer journey for pediatric oncology and hematology patients and their families.

For questions, contact the university police department at (254) 501-5805.
