From identifying grant opportunities and writing grant proposals to ensuring research integrity and compliance, our office provides a variety of resources and expertise to promote university research and sponsored programs (TAMUC).

GET STARTED with proposal development:

a. Initial contact/consultation with Research Development Associate

Schedule a meeting with a Research Development Associate (RDA) to discuss your project idea, funding needs, and initial strategy. This is the handholding phase to guide you through the process.

Researchers are strongly encouraged to review the SRS PI Guidebook to understand their responsibilities for all aspects of their research, including compliance with university and federal policies.

b. Complete Notification of Intent to Pursue Grant Funding form.

Submit the Notification of Intent to Pursue Grant Funding form. This formalizes your intent to seek external funding, allows us to prepare a case file, and connects you with the appropriate support.

Our office, in collaboration with the Texas A&M University System Research Development Office, provides comprehensive support. Checklists: Tailored agency-specific guidelines and requirements:

  • Resource Development: Creation of agency-specific outlines, templates, and supplementary resources.

Once your proposal is finalized and reviewed, the Research Development staff will assist you in submitting the proposal to the Texas A&M University Sponsored Research Services (SRS) office in College Station.

  • Grants.gov provides information about all federal grant opportunities. The database is searchable by federal agency, CFDA number, project number and keywords. Grants.gov allows you to sign up to receive RSS feed updates as grant programs are announced

  • The Federal Grants Wire is a free online listing of federal opportunities, including grants. Available programs are organized by subject area, agency, applicant type, and name.
  • The National Science Foundation funds research projects in the biological, physical and social sciences.
  • NSF Career
  • The National Institutes of Health seeks fundamental knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems and the application of that knowledge to enhance health, lengthen life, and reduce illness and disability.
  • Among the National Endowment for the Arts primary activities include grantmaking to nonprofit arts organizations, public arts agencies and organizations, colleges and universities, federally recognized tribal communities or tribes, and individual writers and translators.

  • The Division of Research and Innovation collaborates with the Sponsored Research Services office in College Station at Texas A&M University.
  • The Research Development associate supports faculty in securing external funding and advancing their research careers. This activity begins with the submission of a Notice of Intent [JK1] to prepare a proposal to SRS.
    • Faculty or staff seeking a grant will submit a notification of intent to pursue grant funding (link). The submission will be reviewed, and a case file will be prepared.  Research development staff will contact the PI to discuss the project and will assist researchers in submitting the proposal to SRS. Researchers are encouraged to review the SRS PI Guidebook to learn more about their responsibility for all aspects of their research, including compliance with university and federal policies. The Guidebook introduces the PI to the functional areas of SRS and the services they provide to the researcher during the sponsored project lifecycle.
