Overview

Student & Civic Engagement focuses on helping each student achieve a personalized college experience. Whether you’re a new student or in your last semester, it’s never too late to get involved.

A great place to start is by joining a student organization. Students involved in campus organizations have a significantly more engaging and successful college experience, so make it a priority to try at least one. You can browse all existing organizations through Engage. Through Engage, students can find events and join student organizations, explore opportunities based upon interests and track their community service hours. Students can also work with Student & Civic Engagement to start a new organization or manage their organization’s business processes.

There are many other opportunities for students to get connected as well. The Warrior Picnic and Warrior Week are two very popular campus life programs organized by Student and Civic Engagement. The office also supports a great deal of community-based programs such as the American Democracy Project, the Become poverty simulation and the Break-A-Difference alternative spring break project.

Warrior Connect

Did you know students who are involved in at least one student organization outside of class are more likely to complete their degree programs and graduate?

TAMUCT students distinguish themselves in many ways. Most of all by taking an active role in campus life and the greater community. Whether you are motivated to make a difference or simply looking to make connections, you’ll find what you’re looking for here! If not, we’ll help you make it happen.

Democratic Engagement

Student & Civic Engagement promotes non-partisan democratic engagement and assists students in registering to vote, as well as encourage students to turnout to vote. Our staff is available for voter registration drives, voter registration assistance, and voter education presentations. Additionally, we offer election-night watch parties to celebrate our democracy!

We invite you to review the documents below to see how we do this work and the evaluation of our efforts.

Warriors in Democracy Engagement Plan

The “Warriors in Democracy” campus plan was developed by the campus community to guide our efforts toward improving citizen engagement with civic life and democratic engagement through voter registration and education, critical dialogue, perspective challenging panels, and more.
