Power Shutdown for Critical Infrastructure Work Friday, July 24

To support critical infrastructure work associated with the CORE project and campus utility systems, Texas A&M University-Central Texas will temporarily suspend on-campus operations on Friday, July 24, 2026.

What to Expect on Friday, July 24

  • Campus buildings will be closed, and access will be restricted to emergency personnel and authorized essential personnel only.
  • University Police will secure campus facilities and restrict vehicle access as needed for safety.
  • A campus-wide power outage and HVAC shutdown will begin early Friday morning to allow contractors and SSC to complete electrical and chilled water system work.
  • Power service is expected to be restored by the end of the day on Friday.
  • HVAC service is expected to return to Founders Hall and Heritage Hall once power is restored on Friday. Warrior Hall HVAC restoration may extend into the weekend.

Saturday Operations

Current plans call for Founders Hall and Heritage Hall to reopen for normal operations on Saturday, July 25. However:

  • Classes scheduled in Warrior Hall on Saturday will be temporarily relocated to Founders Hall.
  • If repairs are completed successfully on Friday, HVAC service to Warrior Hall will be restored and the Library is expected to resume normal operations at noon on Saturday.
  • If repairs are delayed, Library operations may remain suspended until HVAC service can be restored.

We appreciate your patience and flexibility as these important repairs are completed. These temporary measures are necessary to ensure the reliability of campus utility systems and to maintain a safe environment for our university community. 

Additional updates will be provided should project timelines or operational impacts change.
