By Karen Clos,
Director of Communications and Media Relations

KILLEEN – Registration for the Texas A&M University–Central Texas Summer and Fall 2026 semesters officially opened Monday, April 6 for new and returning students following a steady 2% enrollment growth in Spring 2026. Course offerings include from three flexible summer formats of five-week, eight-week, and ten-week semesters that begin on Monday, June 1.

Summer semesters are designed to offer an opportunity for students to get a jump on the upcoming Fall 2026 semester or, university officials add, a chance to maintain the momentum from the spring.

“What we know about our students is that they are definitely not a ‘one size fits all’ population,” said Hannah McDonald, University Registrar. “That is why we created summer terms of different lengths, so that there would be a way to allow our student a lot of options.”

Registration for Summer 2026 continues throughout the summer, explained McDonald, emphasizing that summer semester courses start and finish on an accelerated pace compared to the traditional 16-week terms. Visit www.tamuct.edu or call/text 254.279.0421 for more information. Registration for Fall 2026 remains ongoing.

The University offers 31 undergraduate degrees and 20 graduate degrees, including a recently added master’s degree in nursing which is now accepting applications for the fall.

Undergraduate admissions is open to everyone who has completed a minimum of 30 college or university credits with a 2.0 GPA. New graduate degree programs are expected next year pending the outcome of respective accreditation processes and graduate degree admission is available to students who hold a bachelor’s degree and the GRE/GMAT is not required.

A&M-Central Texas is a transfer-friendly institution of higher education, known for its high-quality programs, adult student friendly environment, involved and knowledgeable advisors, small student-to-faculty ratios, and student-focused support programs, including comprehensive student learning and tutoring programs, outstanding library services, a food pantry and vibrant student activities.

Ranked the most affordable university in the U.S. by EdSmart editors, A&M-Central Texas offers a variety of cost savings programs including the Bachelor Bonus Program that allows students who take 12 credit hours to take additional courses at no additional cost.

Through the University’s WarriorReady option, students’ textbooks are conveniently packaged on a rental basis, with digital materials available directly through the Canvas system. The program costs $24 per semester credit hour through the summer, increasing to $26 per semester credit hour in Fall 2026, and typically saves students 35–50 percent on the cost of textbooks and course materials.
