Douglas Dyer is an associate professor of finance and economics at Texas A&M University – Central Texas. He received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Houston in 1986. He taught at Memphis State University and Rhodes College prior to moving to the Killeen area in 1995, when he joined the faculty at the University of Central Texas. He continued as a full-time faculty member throughout the “pathway” transition from UCT to Tarleton State University – Central Texas to TAMU-CT. He was elected to TAMU-CT’s first faculty senate, as well as serving on its first Academic Council. His scholarly research activities have focused on the information components of stock prices and the effects of institutional investors on firm behavior. His recent research has appeared in several respected finance journals, including the highly regarded Journal of Financial Stability, in the fall 2017 issue.
