Ready for graduation? Take a minute to prepare!

Congratulations on approaching the finish line of your university career! Whatever path the next phase of your life takes you, you’re completing an important milestone with the completion of your degree… but there’s one important checkpoint before you go.

Complete your application to graduate now!

You’ve probably already completed a graduation checklist with your academic advisor. But the graduation checklist is not the same as applying for graduation.

To graduate, you must complete an application to graduate. There’s an application fee involved, a deadline, and the possibility for late fees if you are not complete in time.

The non-refundable Graduation Application Fee is $50 for all applicants who apply before the application deadline. Fees are to be paid at the Business Office (FH 108C.) Students who do not apply by the Application Deadline will be assessed an additional $20 late fee and will be eligible for conferral only.

Eligibility for Honors Graduation

Institutional honors are awarded only for undergraduate, A&M–Central Texas coursework. To be eligible for honors graduation, a student must earn no fewer than 45 Semester Credit Hour (SCH) at A&M–Central Texas.

Individuals earning degrees with fewer than 45 SCH from A&M–Central Texas must meet the following criteria based on all credits for their degree plan, including core courses taken at other institutions [i.e. Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (B.A.A.S.), and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.)].

Honors graduates will be recognized as follows:

3.90 – 4.00 GPA – Summa Cum Laude (Highest Honors)
3.70 – 3.89 GPA – Magna Cum Laude (High Honors)
3.60 – 3.69 GPA – Cum Laude (Honors)

Announcement of honors during commencement does not ensure the student will be awarded institutional honors on the diploma. Students must achieve the above-defined GPA after all final grades are posted for the semester in which the student is graduating.

Graduate students are not eligible for institutional honors.
