Texas A&M University-Central Texas seeks Maker’s Showcase entries

Texas A&M University-Central Texas will host the Fall 2026 Student Maker’s Showcase, an exhibition of student-made artwork and other creations, from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, on the second floor of Heritage Hall. Submissions are due Tuesday, Sept. 1.

Undergraduate and graduate students at AM-Central Texas may submit up to two works each, including collaborative projects. Digital tools may be used to create entries, but the finished works must be physical objects. Examples include artwork, 3D models, clothing designs, sculptures, tabletop miniatures and other do-it-yourself projects.

To enter, students should email a photograph and description of each work to Christine Jones, associate professor of anthropology, at [email protected].

The showcase is part of the Fall Focus 2026: Going Analog event, a College of Arts and Sciences program exploring how physical tools and creative practices interact with newer technologies. Students, faculty, staff and community members are welcome to view the exhibition.

“Making, experimentation and creative work are part of the human experience, anthropologically speaking,” Jones said. “So our showcase would give students a way to create community on campus through the process of making.”

Organizers plan to display all submissions that can be safely accommodated in the available space. Acceptance notices will follow review of the submitted photographs and descriptions, with delivery and installation instructions sent after the submission deadline.
