A&M–Central Texas to Offer Master of Science in Nursing Administration Degree
In an effort to help meet the growing demand for nursing practitioners, Texas A&M University–Central Texas is expanding its degree offerings to include the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree in Nursing Administration.
Opening in August 2026, the new degree is for nurses looking to advance their career in administrative roles and have more of a practical impact on nursing policies and practices. Nurses with an MSN can transition into roles such as nurse manager, clinical leader, director of nursing, chief nursing officer, and other healthcare management positions.
The MSN program will offer graduate nursing education to registered nurses who look to be innovators in the healthcare system. The curriculum will focus on teaching the leadership and management skills needed to lead other healthcare professionals and organizations, focusing on providing safe and effective care.
Coursework centers on evidenced-based practice and nursing science and is related to population health, nursing informatics, management theory, healthcare policy and the role of the nurse administrator. The program includes a capstone project and practicum meant to synthesize the role of a nurse administrator in real-world situations.
For more information on the MSN program, contact Dr. Amy Mersiovsky, director of the nursing program, at [email protected], or call 254-519-5441.
