Compliance Office

The Compliance office exists to answer questions about System policies and procedures, and provide understanding and clarification for university procedures.

Mission Statement

To promote and support a compliance conscious culture that encourages all employees to conduct official Texas A&M–Central Texas business in an ethical manner and in compliance with established laws, policies, regulations, rules, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Dissemination and interpretation of System Policies and Regulations
  • Development and maintenance of institutional rules and standard administrative procedures
  • Assures administrative units have appropriate departmental procedures
  • Development of a broad-based compliance program designed to prevent, monitor and detect areas of non-compliance
  • Coordination of external audits
  • Communication of compliance issues with executive management
  • Processing of all Public Information/Open Records requests

Training

Interactive training should be done on a regular basis to keep employees up to date with new laws or regulations that will have an impact in their areas (based on the Federal Sentencing Guidelines).

Compliance training is offered to individuals responsible for oversight of the risk mitigation process through professional webinars, in-classroom training sessions, and attendance at professional seminars and conferences (i.e., FERPA, Title IX and Clery Act).

On an equal note, all employees of The Texas A&M University System have access to Train Traq, learning management system (LMS). Train Traq is used to assign, monitor and verify employee mandated training and can be accessed through Single Sign On (SSO). Train Traq is also used as an additional source of “free” compliance related training.
