- TAMUCT cost: $4,148 per long semester (16-week semester; 4 or more classes; Fall 2026 rates)
- Time to completion: 4 long semesters at TAMUCT if taking 4 or more classes per semester. Time will vary depending on course load.

The Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology program at A&M–Central Texas is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET. ABET accreditation assures that programs meet standards to produce graduates ready to enter critical technical fields that are leading the way in innovation and emerging technologies.
What is mechanical engineering technology?
The MET is a practical degree for students who want to apply engineering principles directly to products, equipment, production, and operations. Students with MET training apply practical knowledge and skills to problem solving.
Mechanical Engineering Technology emphasizes:
- Application and implementation. A practical, hands-on approach.
- Often centered on building, testing, and improving designs.
- Emphasizes laboratory work and applied technical problem-solving.
- Asks, “How do we make it work, or make it work better?”
