Shiza Shahid
Dr. Shiza Shahid is an Assistant Professor of Psychology in the Department of Counseling and Psychology at Texas A&M University–Central Texas. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in applied psychology from the University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan, and later completed both a master’s and a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology at The University of Southern Mississippi.
Dr. Shahid has taught a wide range of courses, including Statistics, Writing in Psychology, Psychology Major Seminar, Careers in Psychology, and Behavioral Research Methods. Her research centers on two key areas of social psychology: gender equity and social class. She examines the factors shaping gender equity in contemporary society and investigates stereotypes related to social class. Much of her work is situated in cross-cultural contexts, where she explores similarities and differences in gender and social class stereotypes across cultures.
