Accounting and Finance students at A&M–Central Texas receive career-focused instruction designed to build and prepare new leaders for some of the most in-demand and rewarding business occupations. The Department of Accounting and Finance shares with the College of Business Administration a commitment to provide high-quality instruction in all modalities. We strive to prepare students for careers in the dynamic, ever-changing fields of accounting and finance. The BBA degrees in accounting and finance provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to enter a successful career in their chosen field. The MS in accounting provides students with the coursework required to sit for the CPA Examination and the opportunity for entry into the accounting profession, advancement in current their position, or pursuit an academic career.

COBA works closely with multiple offices across campus to ensure student success and upward mobility in course completion through graduation. Advising
Undergraduate Students
Incoming undergraduate students should first contact the Undergraduate Advising office for initial assessment of prior course work and satisfaction of lower level University Core Curriculum completion. Undergraduates are advised through the Advising Center*.

United Way – VITA Program
The VITA program exemplifies our partnerships with non-profit organizations. The College of Business Administration and the United Way-Central Texas VITA program offer free tax assistance to low- to moderate-income individuals, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and limited English speakers, saving them the cost of the filing fees often associated with tax preparation.
Dr. Fulmore encourages accounting students to volunteer to assist with the VITA program annually to provide students with experience and to serve the local community.
The VITA program has filed 288 tax returns, with an average adjusted gross income for clients of $20,066. A total refund amount of $587,311 was obtained through this project.
