Occupational Therapy
Summary of Treatment: Occupational therapy (OT) has shown benefits for individuals with different health conditions. For those with mental health disorders, OT focuses on cognitive rehabilitation such as memory improvement, the execution of activities of daily living such as bathing and grooming, family education, and living space modifications; the idea of combining all of these tasks is to maintain and/or improve cognition and functional performance. OT has shown to decrease disease progression, improve cognitive and functional scores, improve independence, and reduce caregiver burdens.
