Undergraduate Degrees

The Department of Counseling and Psychology offers two undergraduate degrees, the Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science in Psychology.

Graduate Degrees

Graduate students may pursue a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling to prepare to become Licensed Professional Counselors. We also offer a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy to prepare students to become Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists. In addition the department offers a Master of Science in Applied Psychology with emphases in Experimental Psychology, Institutional Research, Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Educational Psychology.

Graduate Specialist Programs

We also offer a Specialist Degree in School Psychology which prepares students to become Licensed Specialists in School Psychology.

Student Clubs

Students can get engaged on campus and online by joining our student organizations.

Psychology Club

The TAMUCT Psychology Club is a student-run organization that allows all students to build leadership and communication skills while expanding their understanding of psychology. Students shall gain these skills through officer positions, organizational events, community service, and specialized lectures from visiting professionals.

Psi Chi

Psi Chi is an International Honor Society in Psychology. The mission of the Society is recognizing and promoting excellence in the science and application of psychology.

A&M–Central Texas Inducts Inaugural Class Into Psi Chi Chapter

Texas A&M University–Central Texas celebrated its inaugural class of inductees into the newly formed chapter of the Psi Chi honor society last Friday, recognizing two professors and 40 students who met the requirements for inclusion into the prestigious society.

A&M-Central Texas Counseling Student Awarded National Fellowship

A&M-Central Texas graduate student and Nolanville resident Leiah Ortiz has been awarded a prestigious fellowship from The National Board of Certified Counselors – Minority Fellowship Program, a federally-funded program designed to increase the number of counselors working with underserved minority populations.
