Texas A&M University - Central Texas: Scholarship Information

Transfer Merit Scholarship:

The A&M-Central Texas Transfer Merit Scholarship is a no-hassle, paperwork-free scholarship that rewards transfer students

for strong academic performance. New undergraduate transfer students who qualify for in-state tuition (including non-resi-

dents with in-state waivers) and enroll in at least six semester credit hours may receive up to $2,000 per year for up to three

years, based on their cumulative transfer GPA. Students with a transfer GPA of 3.75 or higher may receive up to $2,000 per

year, and students with a transfer GPA of 3.50-3.74 may receive up to $1,000 per year. Scholarship amounts are prorated based

on enrollment, and recipients must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress and meet residency and enrollment requirements.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship:

Community college students who are members of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) and transfer to A&M-Central Texas may also be eligi-

ble for the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship. New transfer undergraduates who have completed an associate degree or at least 45

transferable hours, hold a minimum 3.5 transfer GPA, and enroll in at least 12 semester credit hours may receive $500 per se-

Transfer of Credit

Community college courses may not transfer into TAMUCT as upper-division courses (3000-4000 level), even though

TAMUCT may have an upper-division course with exactly the same name and description. Community college courses may not

be used to fulfill the upper-division requirement for graduation at TAMUCT. However, the course may be used as a substitute

for an upper-division course with an approved substitution form signed by the chair and dean.

Affordability

Texas A&M University-Central Texas is among the lowest cost public universities in the state and remains well below the state

average for total charges. Students are not only able to take advantage of guaranteed tuition plans to help control the cost of

their education, but A&M-Central Texas’s Bachelor Bonus also caps tuition and mandatory fees at 12 semester credit hours.

be subject to a higher tuition rate for attempting excessive hours at any public institution of higher education while classified as
