The following Pathway Plan is suggested for full-time students. A part-time student will need moretime to complete this pathway. For assistance with pathway planning, students should schedule an appointment with an academic advisor. This guide is for planning and visualization purposes only.

  1. All firsttime Austin Community College (ACC) students with fewer than 12 SCH of successful college credit must take the EDUC 1300 course in their first semester at ACC. All other students may select either EDUC 1300 or a speech course from the Component Area Option section of the Core Curriculum Course List. See a Music department advisor or a full-time faculty member for more information.
  2. See Music program's course descriptions listing to choose applicable MUAP course. Students should first consult with a Music department advisor.
  3. Ensemble participation is required of all music majors. Only one MUEN ensemble course per semester may be counted toward the requirement. The ensemble must be one that is designated for the student's principle instrument. Students should first consult with a Music department advisor. Brass, Woodwind, Percussion, String: 4 semesters in instrumental ensemble Piano or Harpsichord: 2 semesters in accompanying and 2 semesters in choral ensemble Guitar: 4 semesters in guitar/instrumental ensemble Voice: 4 semesters in choral/vocal ensemble
  4. Not all Degree Requirement courses are completed with the AA. Students will need to complete these remaining lower-level courses at the community college. Please consult a TAMUCT financial aid counselor regarding the consortium agreement process.
  5. Lower-Level Electives, Any Level Electives or Degree Requirements (DEG REQ) may consist of the FOS courses: MUSI 1311, MUSI 1312, MUSI 2311, MUSI 2312, MUSI 1116, MUSI 1117, MUSI 2116, MUSI 2117, MUSI 1307, 4 credit hours MUEN ensemble, 8 credit hours MUAP applied study.

  7. Summer semesters may be required to meet degree requirements throughout the program.
