Matching Gift Opportunities at Texas A&M - Central Texas
Over 1,000 corporations and businesses in the United States provide support for higher education through individual matching gift programs. Gifts are often matched at a dollar-for-dollar rate; however, some companies offer programs which match at double, and even triple the rate of the employee contribution. In addition to employee matching gifts, directors, retirees, and spouses of employees may also be eligible for a match. Contact the Office of Employee Services to see if your company participates in a matching gift program.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can my gift make a difference?
Although it might seem like a gift of $5 or $100 wouldn't have that much impact, every gift adds to the total pool of monies available to the University or to a department. If ten donors give $100, a $1,000 award can be made to an outstanding undergraduate, for example, in an academic program.
Can I designate the use of my gift?
Absolutely: it's your money. However, unrestricted monies can make the difference to underserved programs, programs without an alumni base (like the library, for example), or to help create new programs.
Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes, as permissible by law.
