University Announcements

Immediate Notification

July 2, 2020

This notification to all members of the Texas A&M University-Central Texas community is issued to comply with the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) and institutional procedures for compliance with that act.

To all members of the Texas A&M University – Central Texas Community:

The welfare and safety of our university community is our primary concern as planning for a return to campus continues. We have learned that an employee who was last on campus June 25, 2020, has tested positive for COVID-19. All appropriate protocols as recommended by state and federal authorities are being followed, and campus areas potentially effected have been cleaned multiple times since June 25, 2020. Additional deep cleanings have been requested as a precautionary measure and potential exposure notifications will be sent to those who may have had close contact with the employee.

As a reminder, faculty, staff, and students are asked to self-report if they experience one or more of the following:

  1. Possible exposure to COVID-19,
  2. Need to self-quarantine due to COVID-19 exposure,
  3. Diagnosis by a healthcare professional for COVID-19,
  4. Positive test for COVID-19, and/or
  5. Responsible for caring for someone who is experiencing symptoms, was exposed to and/or diagnosed with COVID-19.

Self-reports should be made online using the online COVID-19 Reporting Form.

In an effort to slow the spread of the virus, we continue to ask our entire Warrior community to continue following these recommended healthy practices for the safety and well-being of yourself and those around you:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Avoid touching your face, eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Engage in physical distancing (minimum 6 feet)
  • Wear a face covering
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces. Additional recommendations on how to protect yourself and others can be found here: Center for Disease Control. Please visit for additional updates.
