Classes and Registration

March 31, 2020

As the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to rapidly evolve, and guidelines for social distancing and public sheltering continue to expand, Texas A&M University-Central Texas, with guidance from The Texas A&M University System, has made the decision to offer all Summer 2020 semester courses in an online format. However, for the present, the delivery of Fall 2020 semester courses remains unchanged and will include a traditional mix of face-to-face and online instruction.

The university's foremost goal is to ensure continuing opportunities for both current and prospective students to sustain their progress towards degree completion regardless of external environmental factors. Mindful of cost, the university will reduce the current distance learning fee to $50 per semester credit hour during Summer 2020 semester while making every effort to further expand financial aid resources for its students for the summer and beyond. In addition, fees for parking and recreational sports will not be assessed during the Summer 2020 semester.

To assure that Summer 2020 semester registration can begin as planned on Monday, April 6, 2020, the Registrar's Office is working closely with faculty to update course schedules. Those schedules will not be available until all updates have been completed. The Registrar's Office will notify all current students when the updates have been completed and are available for viewing, and will also make them available to prospective students. The target for that completion is noon on Saturday, April 4.

As a reminder, schedules that have been previously saved in a student's "shopping cart" in College Scheduler might no longer match course offerings and will need to be updated to reflect the changes. All students are encouraged to review those schedules carefully when registering.

The revised Summer 2020 semester registration periods will be scheduled as follows:

April 6, 2020 – Registration opens at 8 am for students with graduate, post-baccalaureate, and senior classification.

April 13, 2020 – Registration opens at 8 am for all other students.

Once registration opens, all students in need of assistance may contact the Registrar's Office by phone at 254-501-5857 or access for assistance. Texas A&M University-Central Texas is committed to keeping you on-track toward your degree in spite of the challenges that we all face. We will do our best to help you along the way, and we wish you and your families well.
