Clery Act notification to all members and guests of the Texas A&M University-Central Texas community:
September 7, 2020
In accordance with the Federal Clery Act, this message is a reminder that COVID-19 is present in the campus community. We all must take steps to slow the spread of the disease. The intent of this message is to share information about Texas A&M University-Central Texas COVID-19 resources and protocols for the fall semester. Every student, employee, and visitor to the campus is expected to adhere to the following standards:
- Wear a cloth face covering over your nose and mouth when on campus or within 50 feet of the building entrances
- Please note that eating or drinking is allowed on campus but face coverings must be back in place as soon as possible thereafter.
- Frequently wash your hands for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer
- Maintain physical distance (approximately 6 feet or 2 meters) from others
The university is monitoring COVID-19 data and updating weekly metrics with numbers of positive cases and suspected cases in an attempt ensure self-isolation where appropriate. The information also helps inform our decision making related to campus operations in consultation with the Texas A&M University System and local health officials.
As a reminder, the university will not communicate publicly about individual positive cases, consistent with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and other privacy considerations. Individuals who have been potentially exposed to a positive case will be notified through the university's contact tracing procedures, making public communications unnecessary. The university will determine the release of non-identifying communications about clusters of positive results should those occur.
Before leaving home for work or study each day, all individuals should check for symptoms according to CDC guidelines.
