Counseling Services will develop and provide quality holistic services that are known by the University campus and the area community for their commitment to excellence, compassion, and respect for self and others in providing affordable mental health services. Counseling Services will provide services that encourage the promotion of world class customer service that facilitate clients in achieving their educational, academic, and personal goals.
The Counseling Services mission has two components: 1. The Counseling Center provides counseling and education to students and employees as well as consultation and training to staff and faculty in order to facilitate the retention, adjustment and development of members of the University community. 2. The Community Counseling and Family Therapy Center contributes to the education of graduate students through providing a site for counselor trainees to provide faculty supervised counseling to members of the local communities requesting individual, group, couples, marriage and/or family counseling.
Counseling Services to TAMUCT employees and students are made available at no additional charge. Services to the community are made available at a reasonable rate based on family income.
The purpose of Counseling Services is to provide quality counseling; promote mental health awareness, education and consultation: and provide appropriate referral services to employees and currently enrolled Texas A&M University-Central Texas students, and the members of the area community at a monetary rate that is affordable while providing practicum education and experience to TAMUCT graduate mental health students and undergraduate social work students.
